Rotating shifts and family responsibilities make it difficult for many of our members to utilize the $1800 per year available in tuition vouchers through ICD. On an experimental basis, local ICD sites may offer any unused tuition dollars from the previous year to retirees for one year after their retirement.
Cleveland ICD has decided to participate in this program. Remember, you must apply within one year of your retirement. Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis. As with any tuition voucher, it must be approved by the Local Joint Working Committee and the Local Co-Chairs. Most customized classes remain open to Local Union 979 retirees and SOAR 979 members.
